Weather Data from the Maasai Mara

The University of Michigan, in collaboration with Hot Air Safaris Kenya, has installed one of the first live weather stations in the Talek region of the Masai Mara in Kenya. Weather information is relayed instantaneously via the web and can be found at the following link.

Weather data (beginning from July 1, 2012) encompassing the following variables(date, time, low temp, high temp, relative humidity, dew point, wind speed, wind direction, barometric pressure, accumulated rainfall (mm), rain rate (mm/hr)) is archived and stored at 15 minute intervals on a server at the University of Michigan. This archived weather data will be accessible to researchers and others shortly. Weather data is collected from a Davis Instruments Vantage Vue Weather Station located at 1 degree, 27 minutes 33.60 seconds South and 35 degrees, 14 minutes 4.80 seconds East and is 5138 ft Above Mean Sea level.
